NEW DELHI: Pixel devices-maker Google has confirmed that it will launch its flagship foldable smartphone in India.
“Out with the old. In with the fold. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, for the first time in India,” Google India said on X (formerly Twitter) Friday. It will be unveiled on August 14.
This is the first time that consumers in India will be able to buy a Google Pixel foldable smartphone. The company launched its first foldable phone last year, but did not bring it to India.
Google will host an event on August 13 at its headquarters in Mountain View, California, and earlier sent official invites for the same emphasising it will showcase “the best of Google AI, Android software, and Pixel portfolio of devices”.
It launched the Pixel 8 series in October 2023 priced from Rs 75,999, and at its upcoming event, it is expected to launch the Pixel 9 smartphone series comprising a base variant and a Pro variant.
