Donald Trump created history by becoming the 47th President of the United States by winning the 2024 election, and it did not take long for Apple CEO Tim Cook to congratulate him on his victory. Additionally, the Chief Executive hints in his latest post that he intends to work with the returning President to help ensure that the country leads in innovation and other areas.
During the trade wars between the U.S. and China, Tim Cook’s involvement helped convince Trump from applying tariffs that would be damaging to Apple
On X, Tim Cook expressed some heartfelt words to the new President-elect, stating that the Apple CEO will be working closely with Donald Trump once again. At the time of writing, Cook’s post had garnered 3.1 million views, more than 69,000 likes and 5,600 reposts. As reported by AppleInsider, the current Chief Executive was well-known for having a close relationship with Trump, more so compared to other technology leaders. Then again, even with the Biden administration, Cook and other senior Apple members visited the White House at least 87 times in March 2024.
During Trump’s previous term, he mistakingly called Tim Cook ‘Tim Apple’ but no one can deny that the latter’s involvement was instrumental in getting Apple out of a tough situation that was created thanks to the trade skirmishes happening between China and the U.S. Trump attempted to reduce dependency on the region in an attempt to kick off production locally by applying an insane amount of tariffs. Apple had not diversified its supply chain at that time, but Tim Cook persevered and convinced Trump from applying tariffs against its products.
Congratulations President Trump on your victory! We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity.

These concessions were extended to various Apple products, with Trump signing a limited trade deal to prevent a multitude of devices from becoming more expensive. Despite the Cupertino firm being in a significantly better position, it will still be dependent on China for several years, with Foxconn’s Zhengzhou facility supplying around 60 percent of the world’s iPhones. Trump’s latest policies could change Apple’s and other companies’ fates again, so it will be interesting to see how Cook and other business leaders tackle the imminent obstacles.
