Rabies: Two Snatch 3 Phones In An Hour, One Nabbed | Chennai News


Chennai: Two men snatched two mobile phones and managed to pull off another theft when their luck ran out and one of them was nabbed – all in a span of one hour. A hunt is on for the other robber.Police said that early on Monday, S Santhosh Kumar, 25, of Kesava Pillai Park in Pulianthope and his friend B Stephen, also from KP Park, snatched phones from a lawyer and his driver one after the other on Anna Salai.Lawyer S Gunasekaran, 39, of Periya Kandiyan Kuppam near Vriddhachalam, came to Chennai on November 3 to write TNPSC examination for civil judge post. After the exam on Sunday, he informed his driver to come and pick him up from Chennai. His driver S Selvakumar, 30, came to Chennai by bus and was getting directions over phone to reach the hotel where the lawyer was staying.The bike-borne thieves first snatched the phone from Selvakumar who was walking towards Anna Statue on Anna Salai. They then snatched the phone from the lawyer too, and escaped.The same gang targeted a bakery employee on Shenoy Nagar road. But victim K Balaji raised an alarm, alerting a patrol team who nabbed Santhosh. A hunt is on for his aide Stephen.

Mobile phone snatcher arrested in Chennai

A mobile phone snatcher was caught by police during a vehicle check in Chennai. The suspect’s accomplice managed to escape. The snatcher, identified as S Santhosh Kumar, confessed to snatching mobile phones from two other individuals before stealing from K Balaji. Police recovered two mobile phones and a motorcycle from Kumar, but Balaji’s phone was still missing. Santhosh Kumar was arrested and a search for his accomplice, B Stephen, was launched.
