Here is how to quickly link your Aadhaar with your PAN on your smartphone. Do note that the same can also be done on any device such as a laptop, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
Your PAN can be linked to the Aadhaar number via the income tax e-filing portal.
Open incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in website on your smartphone and log in with your credentials. If not, create a new account using your PAN number. Do note that the user ID for the login will be your PAN number. Similarly, Aadhaar and PAN can also be linked via utiitsl.com or egov-nsdl.co.in government websites.
Once you are inside the website, you should see a popup that says “link your PAN with Aadhaar” if not, click on the profile settings option and select link Aadhaar.
Right now, there is a late fee of Rs 1,000 that has to be paid to link PAN with Aadhaar. Post this period, the late fee will go up to Rs 10,000. According to the government, 20 per cent of PAN users are yet to link it with Aadhaar.
In the next menu, verify all the details, and click on the link Aadhaar to link. Some people are reporting server errors while linking, this is probably due to the surge in the number of users accessing the portal to link Aadhaar and PAN.
