The cult sitcom Arrested Development is disappearing from Netflix in a matter of weeks – and yes, that includes the seasons that were specifically made for the streaming platform.
If you want to see all the messy adventures of the Bluth family, then you’ll have to go elsewhere. But where will the series be available to stream in the US and UK? And more importantly, how long have you got left to binge some of your favourite episodes?
Here is everything you need to know. You can also check out all the information we have on Netflix’s password sharing crackdown.
When is Arrested Development leaving Netflix?
Arrested Development will be leaving Netflix on 15 March 2023, which means that the last day to stream any episodes is 14 March 2023.
The series is leaving Netflix as the licensing agreement is up, which has allowed the show to be streamed on the platform for over a decade. It will instead go back to its original owner, which leads us on to its new home…
Where will Arrested Development be available to stream in the US?
The first three seasons of Arrested Development are already available to stream on Hulu in the US. This is because the show was originally a Fox series, which is now owned by Disney (which also owns Hulu).
If you’re not yet signed up, Hulu costs $7.99 per month for ad-supported streaming, and $14.99 per month for an ad-free account. There are also bundles and annual options available, should you prefer.
You can sign up for Hulu here.
Where will Arrested Development be available to stream in the UK?
Arrested Development is not yet available on another streaming service besides Netflix in the UK. However, don’t fret – Disney+ has confirmed that it will be streaming the first three seasons from 15 March 2023.
This is a week earlier than originally planned, so UK viewers won’t have to wait to watch all the antics of the Bluths.
Disney+ costs £7.99 per month, and £79.99 per year, and you can sign up on the Disney+ website.
What will happen to season 4 and season 5 of Arrested Development?
Sadly, no streaming home has yet been confirmed for the fourth and fifth seasons of Arrested Development, which were revived by Netflix as Originals.
The box set of season 4 is available to rent and buy on the likes of Amazon, Google and Apple. However, this isn’t the same for season 5, and it is currently unknown if these episodes will be available to stream once they leave Netflix.
If you’re concerned, we recommend re-watching some of your favourite episodes of the later seasons on Netflix before 14 March 2023.
