Legendary rock band ZZ Top is finally returning to the Gateway City this Spring, the Sames Auto Arena announced Monday morning.
The trio will return to Laredo on Wednesday, April 19, bringing their electric stage show to Laredo again for the first time in over a decade.
The trio is best known for a number of classic rock hits, including ‘La Grange’, ‘Sharp Dressed Man’, ‘Gimme All Your Lovin” and ‘Legs’. Just as well as their music, the band is known for the fully-bearded look of frontmen Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill.
Their music career spans over 50 years, including 15 studio albums and an estimated 50 million albums sold worldwide. In 2004, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The group’s lineup will be slightly different for 2023 after bassist Dusty Hill’s death in 2021. However, the group picked up where they started, with one of Hill’s last requests being the band add their guitar tech, Elwood Francis, to the group in his place and keep the show rolling.
Tickets for the performance go on this Friday, January 13 at 10 a.m. at the Sames Auto Arena box office and via Ticketmaster.com. For more information, the arena can be contacted at 956-791-9192 and visited online at https://samesautoarena.com/home/
